Clinton on Fox

I know this video has been all over the web but if you haven't had a chance to watch it, it's totally worth the 15 minutes. It was the best laugh Rob and I have had from tv in a while. It was also a little sad, too, if only in that it made us nostalgic for a president who was not only well informed on the issues but could also speak in clear, complete sentences. Those were the days.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Chris Wallace in typical Fox News fashion, claims "fair and balanced" questioning of politicians on both sides of the aisles. Always the eager watchdog, MediaMatters.org scoured the archives and found the obvious: in over 3 dozen interviews with members of the Bush administration, the question of Bush's pursuit of Bin Laden went largely unasked.

By the way, interviewer Chris Wallace is, in fact, Mike Wallace's son... those must be some seriously tense Thanksgiving dinners...

Beth- Wallace grilled Rumsfeld much harder and he(Rummy) did not whine. The questions were absolutely fair and only an ounce of what the Bush adminstration gets daily. It was on the radio today.

Clinton may be articulate, but he lied again. It is well documented that he ignored several opportunities. Why is he so mad? He threatened to fire his staff if he got "ambushed" like that again.

Sorry, but Clinton is the real problem with politics.

Sarah - christspeak rx makes some interesting points in his post. Did Clinton lie? Probably, all politicians do, be it simple spin, exaggeration, or more nefarious reasons. Clinton could have done more but so could Bush. Having seen the full interview on Fox News Sunday and not the cleverly edited version (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eat-the-press/2006/09/25/nice-little-conservative_e_30179.html) on the Fox News website, I believe Clinton was more spin than anything else. If we really want to talk about lying politicians, look no further than the current administration

Did Fox News Sunday ask Rumsfeld? Yes, once on the March 28th 2004 interview Chris Wallace did press Rumsfeld on whether or not the administration had done enough prior to 9/11. To say he grilled him much harder than Clinton is a bit of a stretch. Below is a list of other opportunities Chris Wallace (and Tony Snow prior to him) had on Fox News Sunday to ask the current administration important questions about 9/11. Sadly, they did not (source http://mediamatters.org/items/200609240002_).

ChristpeakRX is also correct about Clinton being articulate. Man, I sure do miss that in a President.

If you want to talk about missed opportunities, Bush has certainly missed plenty of those, most famously at Tora Bora (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A62618-2002Apr16) when, with Bin Laden cornered, the US tried to use only 36 special forces soldiers that covered only one of the two possible exits from Tora Bora. Another 4000 troops were a few hours away but were refused when they requested to join the fight.

What’s wrong with politics today is not Bill Clinton, it’s a bunch of Neocon Corporatists posing as conservative republicans and the minions who won’t open their minds enough to question the bull**** they are being fed. The current administration has no interest in the American people, only in their corporate clients.
