Did you read the initial post in the thread? It announces an "In Your Face Rally" to counter Cindy Sheehan's visit to Greensboro and ends with the call to "ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK." I hope these folks are on the Greensboro police's radar.

Hmm. I submitted a comment on their blog that pointed out that the Mission Statement for Gathering of Eagles says "We are a non-violent, non-confrontational group. We look to defend, not attack" and that that contradicts the "ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK" of the call to action for their protest.
My comment was not approved by the moderator.
Excellent point, Roch - and good try on the comment. But the "Attack," etc isn't anything to the racist hate talk they allowed more recently: http://gatheringofeagles.org/?p=261#comment-8731

I was in DC the 17th, with VVAW (among others). I took careful note of what was on the other side of the aisle. Whatever it was, it wasn't 30,000.
but what it most DEFINITELY was, was White. (Not exactly what I experienced in the airborne in the 60's, trust me)
So, when I got back here to Brooklyn and saw all the GOE claims of "Real America" (30,000 strong, remember), I decided to some follow-up.
What I did was go to every GOE and GOE-supporting site/blog I could find and check out all their gleefully posted pictures.
and save them.
and look at them.

so far out of what is now a collection of over 200 photographs THEY have posted, I have been able to reliably identify 5 people of some color other than white.

of whom 2 are media figures covering the event, and one is a child.
So ... I went back to the sites and asked this simple question:
"Could anyone here tell me why, according to the photographs you have posted, GATHERING OF EAGLES a Lily-White operation?"
Tell me, SBJ (and friends) ... do you like watching heads explode?
If you do, try this:
go on GOE and related sites and ask them why their operation is soooooooooo white.
You'll win all kinds of new friends.

Great stuff, jtg! I had noticed that at the march but honestly didn't think much about it - I was too focused on how diverse the anti-war protesters were! Every age, color, orientation - clothing style! It was amazing!
I would love to see the exchanges you've had!
